Join The Mystic Unicorns!
We invite you to join the Mystic Unicorns as a volunteer to support the fandom arts at MY-CON Orlando 2025. Must apply before the event, no “day of“ volunteers will be accepted.
We try to give volunteers opportunities before, during, and after the event to walk around the showroom and check out everything.
Volunteers earn free hugs, snacks, drinks, candy, and a special thank you gift and gift card at the end of their shift when they commit to a day (at least 4 hours) of fun at the convention.
Volunteers and Staff are in need for the following departments (you might be put in one area or float to multiple, it really depends on the day)
- Game/Panel Rooms: Ready for the fun? Your job here will be making sure the room sticks to schedule, watching the equipment, and to make sure no one breaks the rules.
- Convention Operations: Can we fix it? Yes, you can! You are the Fix-It-Felix’s of the convention. Your job here will be to make sure everything runs smoothly. You are the Mover and Shakers of the con because they can go anywhere at any time.
- Cosplay Info Booth & Contests: OH did you see that!.. When you assist the attendees with signing up for the costume contest! Your job will be to help sign costumers up, control the lines for winner line up, and helping crowd control.
- Cosplay Repair Team: Your role here will be to help a cosplayer in need! You must have basic knowledge of cosplay repair including basic sewing, wig styling, make-up and glue gun use.
- Greeter: “Welcome to MY-CON!” Is what you will be saying in this role. Your job here will be providing people with warm greetings, and sharing information of the venue, locations, and events during the program..
- Kids Program: In this role, you will work with the kids of MY-CON, helping them locate kids sign up for the costume contest
- Photography: YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN CAMERA EQUIPMENT. Your job will be taking photos of the events happening (panels, main, etc.), and take hallway shots! MY-CON must be able to use the photos for advertisements their webpages and social media.
The EARLY deadline to be considered for volunteer opportunities is December 1, 2023
The LATE deadline for volunteer opportunities is April 17, 2025

As MY-CON approaches, Mystic Spiral Unicorns want to make MY-CON Shine; this is our 7th one. We are looking for volunteers who would like to donate time, talent and expertise in order to gain behind the scenes access to the convention and an opportunity to meet other volunteers who have the same interests and passions for the comics, anime and pop-culture community.

Volunteer Details
There are many different opportunities at the con. Some of the volunteer positions call for specific skills and experience, but many will only need enthusiasm, dedication, trust, and creativity. If this sounds like an opportunity for you please complete the Volunteer Form and send it to us. The earlier you send your form, the better.

All volunteers are asked to assist for a minimum of 4 hours during the day in order to receive the volunteer benefits. However if you would like to volunteer a couple hours, we will gladly accept the help. All volunteers will have a free entrance to the event.
Each volunteer will be expected to check in and out with the volunteer coordinator. Parents can also volunteer to earn a pass for their kids(11-16), given that the kids are old enough to roam on their own.
If you are interested in volunteering with the MysticUnicorns in support of MY-CON, the following must be completed and understood:
1. You must submit a volunteer form before the deadline.
2. You must be 16 years old or over.
3. Shirts and shoes are to be worn during the shift at all times.
4. Please help promote a safe and healthy environment while volunteering. Refrain from condoning or participating in any deliberate act that may create danger or an unhealthy situation towards any individual.
Most volunteer positions are easy to learn and do not require any previous experience in order to qualify for the assignment. Volunteers assist in all areas of the convention, from assisting staff, special events, running errands, registration, checking badges, etc.; no task is overlooked or under-appreciated.
